Car-mageddon: The 405 freeway between the 10 and the 101 is shutting down for a weekend from July 16-17. It's such a big event that the city has been advertising it for weeks now. When I drive along any LA freeway, the signs shout at me from the side: 405 FREEWAY. CLOSED JULY 16-17. Only in LA, can a freeway shut down for 53 hours and have it be the end of the world. How are people going to go to their yoga classes and farmer markets??! AhHhHhHhHhHh!! The video is pretty funny if you buy into all the stereotypes about Angelenos and their social and lifestyle habits.
